Systems Engineer II, Distributed Systems

Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer 2 contributes to the strategic objectives of the IT Division by installing and maintaining operating systems and OEM hardware and software in accordance with Systems Development Standards. This position is located in Hebron, Ohio.

Essential Functions

  • Provide hardware and operating system support and maintenance for multi-site enterprise wide Windows Systems.
  • Provide assistance to IS and vendor support teams responsible for applications hosted on Windows servers.
  • Provide third tier support for administrators in remote facilities.
  • Responsible for primary support of various Windows, Unix and Telco services including security compliance, user administration, Active Directory and SQL Server.
  • Responsible for performance monitoring, backups, and data support of servers.
  • Facilitate new projects in budgeting, architecture, implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the completion of projects. This includes attending project meetings, task management, estimating, project timelines, and prioritizing work.
  • Actively pursue new technology knowledge, training and proactive problem resolution.
  • Rotating 24x7 on call server support.
  • Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Education – Two year college degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, related fields, and/or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience
    • Proven ability in all phases of technical and project documentation.
    • Proven ability to recommend and install hardware and associated operating systems.
    • Proven ability to support existing software and independently install complex OEM software products.
    • Successful work performance demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively, work well with others, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation on the job.
