Product Project Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
This exciting new position includes project management of finished gift development from product concept through operational readiness. This position encompasses working in cross functional teams to assign responsibility, due dates and timelines for the development cycle of a group of products for Harry & David. Specifically, the area of responsibility involves facilitating the completion of packaging, design, branding, prototypes, art work, sourcing, bills of materials, item master and costing as well as reporting of status throughout the lifecycle of products. This position is located in Medford, Oregon.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Program management of category specific development activities from Assortment Planning through Bill of Material Costing, Finished Gift Costing, Raw Material and Subassemblies and Master Data Maintenance
- Develop and manage the plan of each project and work to improve throughput and improve quality
- Become an expert in SAP data setup and quality
- Manage and organize project documentation (tracking reports, schedules, spec docs, contracts, etc.)
- Work as an advocate for Design, Operations, R&D, Purchasing, Planning and Merchants
- Drive the completion of development and costing
- Assist in progress reporting, project schedule updates, project resource allocation and tasking, project deliverables and other documents as assigned
- Work to improve processes and tools
- Act as a resource to develop product development tools with the business and IT
- Manage accurate project records – both in physical and electronic form, keeping comprehensive project notes, and maintain guidelines for future reference
- Partner with merchant who owns product category to manage product development process
- Gate keeper for development requirements for new products, insures completeness of information
- Manages cost estimating process
- Manage staff, conduct performance reviews and encourge personal growth of directly reporting employees
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Four year college degree in Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least one year experience.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills required
- Project management certification a plus.
- Knowledge of APICS, SAP and product costing processes a plus
