Laborer

Position Summary:

The laborer roll is to assemble finished gift products (flat fruit gifts, towers, banquets and gift baskets, pack on demand gifts (Create Your Own, Pantry Essentials), wholesale labeling and re-work projects according to company guidelines and standards. Another aspect may be to supply production lines to ensure the line receives components and cleans the materials off the line at the end of the productions cycle. This position is located in Hebron, Ohio.

Essential Functions

  • Pack and assemble Harry & David and Wolferman’s flat fruit gifts, baskets, towers, suitcases, etc meeting packing units per hour standards for each gift. Assigned to an assembly line and performs various packing duties following packing guidelines and quality controls.
  • Places labels (price tags, master carton, EDI, etc) on product and finished cartons. 100% accuracy to met customer specifications.
  • Performs pre-stretching exercises (5-10 minutes).
  • General housekeeping duties (trash, sweeping, break-down boxes, etc).
  • Performs accurate, timely and safe movement of product from inbound staging to the production lines. Ensure the proper sku # and records the lot date information with each move. Supports 1-3 production lines including create your own, value added services and re-work lines.
  • Monitors the inbound staging and on-line staging ensuring appropriate quantities and reducing downtime by supplying or replenishing and adequate amount.
  • Coordinates line change over’s: Pull old materials off the line and move new materials onto the line. Ensure the item is fully staged and 5 gifts are completed and approved.
  • Perform routine on-line audits to ensure appropriate quantities are available to the production line.
  • Moves completed gifts to receiving area, wraps and receives out the finished gifts.
  • Enter daily receipts into DLX data base.
  • Receives out component parts and finished gifts after completion of production run.
  • Creates accurate records of inventory using paper and RF methods.
  • Physically stack, un-stack and wrap pallets.
  • Performs packer and material handler duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Education - No educational requirement
  • Experience - Reading and math skills required

Special Requirements:

  • Able to stand at a pack station for 8-10 hours. Frequent twisting and use of hands, wrists and arms.
  • Able to see small print and identify letters and numbers quickly.
  • Able to lift, reach, bend, twist while lifting 10lb to 20lbs.
