Forklift Operator
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the safe operation of a variety of lift trucks to move materials and products within the storage, production and shipping areas. This position is located in Hebron, Ohio.
Essential Functions
- Certified to operate a variety of lift trucks. Certifications include: Electric pallet-jack, Crown Double Reach and Crown Stock Pickers.
- Certification on Crown counter balance when applicable.
- Inspects equipment daily and completes pre-inspection form
- Put-away, transfer, retrieve, pick and deliver materials in storage, which include but not limited to commercial fruit, finished gift, components, empty racks, bins, cardboard, bin fruits and trash.
- Able to meet department standards which may include 15 pallet moves per hour and /or pick 100 cases an hour.
- Able to work in demanding circumstances which may include crowded conditions, adverse weather, cold storage (0-40 degrees = intervals of 2-4 hours or your entire shift) and extended hours.
- Utilizes hand-held scanning device to pull accurate skus and quantities. May operate and learn more than 1 inventory system.
- Performs pre-stretching exercises.
- Able to work in heights as assigned (30 feet)
- Pick and stack cartons onto a pallet for individual or store orders. Audit completed pallets.
- Familiar with all aspect of retail pricing and EDI labeling requirements for specific wholesale customers.
- Able to perform material handler, packer, gift picker and receiver positions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience - 6+ months of previous forklift experience on similar equipment. Demonstrated ability to work in demanding circumstances which may include crowded conditions, cold storage and long hours up to the entire shift. Reading (English) and math skills (counting, adding subtracting, multiplying and division). PC skills or previous inventory scanning experience requires.
Special Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, twist and reach for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift 30lbs to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
- Able to successfully complete pre-employment screening and training class
- Able to see small print.
- Able to communicate unsafe conditions in warehouse to leadership such as water on floor or ice.
